The new Pro line of Bounty Hunters uses the push on connectors that started with the Fisher F5 and first generation Teks (TekB) coils. The older Bounty Hunters operate at a lower freq than the newer line (that operates close to the F5 and Teks.). What works on the BH Gold and Platinum will work on the new Pros. FTP tries to give the illusion on their compatibility chart that the Pros need to use the early F5 coils, yet it shows the Platinum and Gold using the same 8" coils as the Pro line, yet we are supposed to think that the 5" TekB coils will work on the Platinum and Gold but not on the Pro line. So on 10"C and 11" DD, the Gold Platinum uses the TekB coils and the Pros use the new BH coils. (let me know if you've figured out this mess yet}.
My thinking from a marketing perspective, is that FTP doesn't make a great profit on the Pro detectors (which are sold through department stores without the "least selling price" clause of most detectors) and want the dealers to make profit on accesories. This puts the Pro line between a rock and hard place. The educated consumer can see that they are getting a real deal on the metal detectors, and seek out the coils that will work and not the ones FTP wants you to buy. If there's one thing I've learned over the years in this field, it's that rumors become a reality if left to fester. And metal detector companies will let them fester if it profits them.
Not a bad thing, just business.
