got the photos of the abandoned homes

Those are nice looking places to detect. You should find a few old coins in the yards.Be sure to grid them out and search every sq foot, then again in a different direction.Wish they were in my neighborhood.
Waterbug

I realize from looking at the photos that the grass does look cut so I took some close up photos of the grass itself, it doesn't look real tall but the grass just started growing enough for people to mow a few weeks ago, we were still getting snow the end of April.

nice pics of the flowers...;) besides the grass, ya i agree with waterbug i to wish they were near me to detect on. i ofund this one real old house that after the lady passed it became abonded. i went to detect the front yard and noticed it became a home for a transiate when he stepped outside and asked what i thought i was doing in his yard....

I went over and walked along the the curb, it is too hard right now with the way the grass is, It has been rainy so I can't mow it yet, until then (when the realtor is not around) I'm working on the dirt driveway in photo 3.

You could always talk to the listing realtor and make him/her a deal that if you mow, you detect. It will save them having to pay a private company to do it.

I called the number on the sign out front and the lady I got gave me another number and that one only had voice mail, I'll have to try again Monday to get a hold of someone, also I have a gas powered push type mower, if they let me I hope I will be able to cut it with that kind.

Go for it,, worst that can happen is realtor will come and tell you to stop,, just dont go in there and leave the place looking like you took a backhow to it

Teasing..Always best to get permission.....I volunteered to cut the grass at a old home once..and in return being allowed to detect the grounds..They jumped all over it..There was only one(1) problem..I didn't find one old coin..Just clad..."Go figure"....But I did imagine the next signal was going to be Silver or something better..So all wasn't a loss I had a great time.Hunted that darn place three weekends in a row, and mowed it..Never did find a decent target...

I went past the home and someone else, that they hired, was already mowing, I offered to rake but he said he was going to be comming back monday to go over it again with the mower, I told him the situation and he said that he would be talking to the realtor person and would ask them about me detecting and let me know on Monday.
