Got the Excalibur II, but...

Gonehunting

New member
I ordered a new Excalibur II Wednesday from Detector Depot, got a really good deal and was here Friday night. I can't say enough about Lynn and Kristi, but thursday night a violent and deadly tornado ripped thru my old hometown and destroyed my mother's home, my brother's home, and did damage to my nephews. So the excitement of the new detector hasn't really been there.
The storm also hit all the other homes on that road too. Some leveling them to the foundation, others escaping with extensive roof damage. It is confirmed that this one wall cloud had three tornado's on the ground at once for over 10 miles. My mother wasn't at home but, my brother was checking on her and had pulled into her carport to escape the hail, not knowing the tornado was only seconds away... They watched the tornado take pieces of my moms house off until it ripped the roof off. The carport is 10 steps from the house. Out of the 70 or 80+ trees only 8 escaped damage only 15 were salvaged. One however did not. This tree was checked for age in 1980 it was said to be around 420 years old by the forestry dept. Now its on the ground. :( Now I am 6ft tall that it will give it some perspective. My brothers said it only took 22 seconds for this tornado to do all this damage. This is the storm that hit Tushka Oklahoma.

Gonehunting, my prayers are with you, your family, and neighbors who suffered greatly from this tornado. Pray that they all have insurance that will cover their losses. GH, Don

Thanks Don. Fortunately everyone on our road was covered, so we are all good to go just have to pick up the pieces...

dfxone we are also praying for your family and the others out in OK that were in the path of that terrible storm.

Just be thankful your family is OK. Sorry to hear that. Down the road when life gets a little more normal you can think about hunting some of the old home sites that are gone.

Thanks guys. It is unreal how much those tornado's destroyed.
