Got the bad news today..

My luck is running true to form. Got 20% circulation in my right leg and 50% in my left. Have to go in next week for a dye test. Depending on the results of that I may get a balloon in my artery. If that isn't feasible I'll have to have an artery bypass in my leg, which means I'll have to spend three miserable, awful, exasperating days in the hospital. I HATE IT !!!!!! I don't even like to visit people in the hospital. :)

[quote Uncle Willy]Yeah I'll move like a gazelle.

Maybe you will.
I know it is misery, but be glad you found out and they have the knowledge to patch you up.

Take a pen and paper with you and start writing. I have read your articles going back many years, and you are a very talented writer Bill. That should help take your mind off things. And when you are recovered, you are gong to be able to put a lot more miles on those lower extremities of yours. Sometimes you got to take a few steps back before you move forward. This could be one of these times. Our prayers are with you Bill.

I hope it goes well for you Bill. Is it plaque or fat build up in your veins? or other? Did they tell you why it has happened? After your op check out some natural supplements to keep your veins cleaned out. Unless you like the drugs they might give you. Im anti-pharma dude myself, you may be differnet. But none the less hope it all goes well for you. Alan (Ga)

I spent 4 weeks in the hospital with a burst kidney and a 4 pound tumor a few years back. I was so drugged up I could only read 3 pages in a book. I kept restarting it and never got further than 3. I say that because I wouldn't want drugs to interfere with your truly excellent writing as one poster suggested.

Miserable isn't the word for a long hospital stay. I'll be praying for you and hopefully you'll be able to avoid that. You are built tough and I bet you recovery will be fast.

Chris

I always get real shaky at hospitals now. It's the smell that triggers it in me.

Just be glad you found out before it permanently sidelined you. You will be back to :detecting: before you know it.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery Bill. My prayers are with you, and thanks for the encouragement and advice you give to each of us. Ron

and delivers them. Psalms 34:7

Thanks John. I hope theold limbs work better. I've always been able to go for hours, now I can't walk across the street.

Bill

That's true. Let it go long enougfh and I lose a leg, but who in the hell could stand the pain that long. :)

Bill

Hey that sounds like a plan. My wife has a power chair. Maybe I could rig a detector to it. :) I don't plan on being anywhere but on my feet swinging a beeper. Take care.

Bill

Sorry you had such an ordeal bud but if they kept you doped up time wasn't a problem. THat sounds like a mind boggling bummer. Longest I was ever in was seven days. I know how that morphine works, except it don't last long on me. Give me a shot and it wears off in fifteen minutes. The longest stay for me will be three days, barring any complications. But if the first procedure will fix it I'll only be in one day and go home that night. That's the one I'm praying for.

I'm a vitamin freak also. I'll be checking into those alternatives. They haven't said yet what is constricting the artery. Guess I'll find out soon enough. The flow in the artery in my groin is fabulous and that was surprising to the surgeon.. Course I smoke and that doesn't help. My veins are all in good shape and I have really big veins, which made the doc happy for some reason. So I don't know what's plugging it up. Thanks for your well wishes and I plan on being out swinging when the weather breaks.
