Got the 10.5 DD med freq coil on order.......

anything special I should know about it? Any tips anyone wants to share I am all ears? Does it pinpoint any different than the stock coil? I think I remember someone having a pinpoint video somewhere, but not sure where I saw it

It's my favorite of all I have used. It is really deep. Believe it or not, I found a Wheat at 14", and that is NO exaggeration. Mine pinpoints dead center. I can't speak for anyone else. If you want the deep targets in non-trashy areas, this is the one.

In an iron infested house site. Lots of nails. I kept getting a solid hit from one direction only. I dug it and it was a 1902 Newfoundland large cent.

I like that coil a lot.

Mine actually gave me trouble on the iron site I was on last week. Just got my 6" Med Freq today, hope that does better. 1859, how did you do it? All metal, or a certain pattern? Mine kept picking up the iron.
Thanks

Mine pinpoints under the sticker at the front of the coil. In my experience is it takes a little practice to learn to pinpoint with any DD coil. My experience has been that this coil is great for open areas with moderate trash, but if you have too many targets under the coil it doesn't separate as well as the stock coil. But, that's been my experience with all of the detectors I've owned when you have a larger than stock coil on it. This coil is great for depth though. My XT-70 with this coil outdid an MXT with the stock coil on it, over the same target, same soil. I just flat out like it better than the MXT I used to use, works better for me.

I use nothing but the 10.5 DD MF coil and I love it. I find that my DD pinpoints at the nose of the coil when in pinpoint.
If I hit a lot of iron I switch to 1 from all metal. I recover a wedding band at 11" and a solid 16. Works great on the beach also.

Up to a point yes, but its also a larger coil and will have more targets under it at one time, making it more difficult to separate out when the iron target density reaches a point where the 6" DD coil would be the better choice. I have a test garden in my back yard where I've buried 3 nails close together with a bullet to see if I can separate out the bullet. I can more effectively do so with the stock coil than the 10.5" coil. With the 10.5" I have to hit it at just the right angle.

This is when you switch into prospecting mode. It will allow you to get individual audion signals from each target under the coil. You can size many objects under the coil then decide to dig.
