Finally pulled the trigger and traded my first detector away yesterday, The old trusty DFX. She had her battle scars but that dog could hunt, I coin hunted before I got into relic hunting and She didn't let me down. I actually kept count of the found money with her and she more than paid for herself 2 times over, Yes over $2000.00 in clad ( I kept track of it and quit counting at 2 grand). I've kept all the Silver and older coins as I've kept all the jewelry also. She found my first relic, a percussion cap, as well as many roundballs and my first Minie. After 5 years I got to know her pretty well and she never gave me any problems other than the factory coil finally crapped out on me this year. I hope the next feller that gets her will have good luck with her. It was time for a change so I ended up trading for a 2008 model MXT 300 after seeing a few of them in action, Now that I relic hunt primarly I think I made a good choice. I fooled around with it a while in the yard today and learned a bunch but would appreciate any tips y'all can give. I kind of figured I'd use the MXT as a primary Detector even though i do pretty good with my F75. The only problem that I have with the F75 is that it's in Texas now for the 4th time getting repaired, It must like being down there, I never had that problem with my DFX and don't figure on having that problem with the MXT. Can't wait to get the new kid in town on a relic hunt. Should be killer from what I see so far.
