Self explanatory, I guess. Never seen one before.

Its been an aluminum season, so far, I might add. This is the umpteenth aluminum, tokeny sort of thingie I've found.
You can see how badly it gets eroded in the soil.
 
I have never seen one like that either. I have a bunch of things like that also. Even though they are crappy, I still save them. Kinda interesting items.

That sums it up handily. It is these "doodads" that keep us interested while we wait on the good stuff. Old spots dry up, new spots don't pan out and it gets harder each season to come up with new ones.
So, while we wait on the next Mother Lode to appear, we intrigue ourselves with such as these. Honestly, when taken as a whole aside from the trash, they are what consitute the majority of our finds.

I also have a box full of such "crap," which I should probably just toss in the bin. But I cannot.
I can identifiy most of it, as being something, and so share a tangible link to the lives of those that came before us.
If for no other reason than that, I keep my crappy stuff, too.
