Hit an 1877 school house for the first time. The owner stopped by and said there is nothing here it has been searched to death! So I showed him that those searchers left me a 1904 "V" nickel!

He told us about two other spots on the property and one was a cabin by a lake over 100 years old. So after a while we went to find the cabin. A couple minutes into the hunt I found a 44S merc! I was thinking to myself that I bet this cabin is from the 40's or 50's!
Then my friend said, I think I found a shield nickel! He used my eyes to confirm, and sure enough! 1869! Now I am re-thiking the age of the site! I got an old Tootsi Toy, and a small lock. Then my buddy got an 1865 indian head! Now I am starting to think, I wish I would have got that area around the campfire bowl! We kept hunting and I got a 28 wheatie. When we were done He said I got 2 indians in one hole and one is a fattie! He gave me them for inspection. I right away told him that both wre fatties! The first was an 1861, and the next one I had to flake off the dirt to read. That is when I said HOLY COW! You got a Flying Eagle cent! I was very glad for him, because it was his first Shield, flying eagle and oldest coin to date! I think we will be back at that site!
