got out with the Tiger shark today

Hi all, I made it out to a quite county park beach today because of the cooler temps around here. I have not had a lot of opportunity to take the Tiger shark out until today. I found a lot of clad and very little trash. I was actually surprised at how few signals there were. I think it has been hunted a lot. I found a three quarter, two dime pocket spill which was real neat. I do have a question about signals though, I got a lot of solid signals and also some broken one way signals that I assume are trash but I also got some one way real short signals that barely sounded off? Are these also trash? The other question I have is does the Tiger shark make the same volume signal on deep or shallow signals or does deeper signals come in more quieter?

Sounds like you were at high disc to me, I set mine at 3 and targets do have a harder hit on shallower targets, and to add it works fine on beaches in the gulf no issues at all, hope it helps, hank

Thanks for the reply. I had my disc set between 2 and 3. That is why I could not figure out why there was not more targets. I did find one newer pull tab and one old beaver tail style pull tab and also a rusty nail. I am still curios how the deeper targets sound on the tiger shark? Do they sound similar to shallow targets? Thanks and HH.

I'm curious, where do you have your Threshold set? This setting make a big difference in crispness of audio response, You have to adjust to a "just" audible theshold volume to ground balance the detector..A "slightly" higher Threshold volume has some qualities to inhance the signal when in motion disc. mode. You may have to open it up and set the Sensitivity a little hotter also until it chatters then back it off until stable. while you have it opened up.... check the level of the Threshold setting. In answer to your last question, the Tiger Shark has a modulated audio,,, deep targets sound deep,, the deeper ones have a 'soft sound' that covers a larger area of the coil than a shallow "loud" signal which covers an area of about the same size as the open hole of the coil.

Its been hunted out by land detectors set it lower and be patience, the TS is a good machlne, hank

Thanks for the replies. I have my sens. and threshold set the way it came from the factory, I was told these settings should be find.

They make these settings at the factory to work anywhere, but they are not optimum settings for everywhere:confused:

...You are correct sir,the factory settings will work but I did not like the way mine was set by the factory, it was a bit wimpy with the Sensitivity setting and I turned up the Threshold where I could still ground balance the Tiger but have a little more sparky attitude in the motion Disc. mode. I hardly ever use the all-metal Fast or Slow to pinpoint, by slowing the coil in motion disc. mode I can pinpoint just fine. When adjusting the threshold volume, I will give it a little more volume for a more crisper and louder Motion Disc. signal. Just my 12 years of experience using the Tiger Shark and MHO.

Thanks guys for the info. I am going to have to tweak my settings a little before my next outing. HH.
