Just working the controls and getting a better feel for it. Picked up a nice native american made silver and turquoise ring. Of course my picture taking abilities are not that good sometimes.
I set up with Disc at minimum, Notch Width at Maximum, using the tones to discriminate. After hunting for a while I had a little difficulty between the low iron tone and the medium low zinc tone. Those two tones tend to blend to my ears for some reason. I quickly found a solution though. If I got a low tone that I wasn't sure of, I'd just flip the the notch switch over to wide and if it went quiet I knew it was a zinc tone. If it didn't, I knew I had the low iron tone. Some may not have this issue, but out in the field I found it to be hard to distinguish between the two sometimes. I think flipping the notch switch will be easier than walking around with a penny in my shoes.
With the Notch Width turned fully to the maximum, all the foil range gave the medium high tone. Non of the low tones I recovered (I recovered a lot until I got comfortable with it) were non-ferrous.
I liked the way the Notch Width dial moves the medium high tone notch window around. It is a useful feature. I'll make a map of it sometime next week and share it.
Like the detector and of course the Cleansweep is the cats meow.
