Got out with the Feller for a couple of hours this evening. Weather was fantastic. Picked up $2.20 and some trinkets....

Tried a school I had never been to before and what a dud that was. Got to send my 250 in for a check up as it gets squirrely once in awhile but it is one of the very first to come off the line months ago. I'm sure going to hate to part with it for awhile so guess I'll have to play with one of my other Garretts. Haven't used the 1350 in awhile so will give it a work out.

Lots of falseing, dinging on every thing in the ground,( even with sensitivity cranked way down ), belltoning all the way through a scan, failure to pinpoint on a solid belltone unless you punched the button a half-dozen times and then often all I would get was silence over the target, and failure to detune often. Clear enough? <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

Yes Sir!! I got one of the first ones so I wanted to make sure what yours was doing so if it happened to me, I would know I wasn't the only one. Saturday, I let the batteries run down to 1 bar, (I have been changing them at 2) and the two-five-oh was not functioning up to par, ie: falsing, no pinpoint except after pressing it a few times, but not all the symtoms you describe. Will put a new set in on my next outing and see if everything is back up to par.

Yeah let me know how yours performs. I thought low batteries might have been my problem but after changing them nothing changed. Do you have any problem with getting a strong belltone then pushing pinpoint and getting silence, then no matter how many times you press pinpoint you still get no signal?
I first attributed it to the detector signaling deeper than it could pinpoint but that is totally illogical as pinpoint is all metal an should signal on anything, even deeper than coins mode.

My hunting buddy's did that right after he got it,it was a bad coil.

I've had it belltone and on pinpoint, nothing. Then re-aquire, pinpoint, nothing. Move way off target, pinpoint, move back toward target, found it to be a huge junk target.
