if anybody uses it any info would be great ......i was finding quarters at almost 11 in deep . i cant beleive the deept on this unit .i was knee deep into the water .i didnt want to go farther because the waves are really large that night at the beach ....... some small stuff slipped through my scoop .i have to try the magnet idea in the scoop. i havent tryed it in the dry sand yet . but i got to get a longer scoop .how deep do some of you go into the water ? any help would be great ...........alfonso

I don't use a magnet in my long handled scoop, but I have galvanized wire mesh ziptied into the scoop. Sand does not wash out quite as fast, but the small targets don't usually fall through the holes either. HH
