Got out with 1236 today and hunted around a well hole

I ran across here awhile back.Real trashy iron and modern junk.Its right in the middle of a cavalry camp I've hunted for years just stayed away from the trash.

Any how found four dropped spencer carbine bullets,Carved pencil,couple of musket balls,a gold ring with 12 diamonds? maybe whos knows says 18kt man size 11 not for sure about the diamonds though.

Also found this badge looks like a saddle shield but with a script S in the middle its thick and cast with a stippled back ground I've seen others dug out of cavalry spots on the net and such but still a mystery to me.I googled them and found one with the letter P out of a camp in tennesee.
Strange.Got a buddy who has one with the letter F.take a look at mine plus ive enclosed a link shield to one also.thanks

Wow that is a nice one Keith! Its even got your initial on it. Finding 4 Spencers woulda made most peoples day. I've only found one up here in the Michigan northwoods.

I can tell you're a relic hunter, I would of posted a pic of the ring. If it says 18k then you can pretty much bet the diamonds are real.

Not the greatest picture and needs a cleaning this is the way it came out of the ground. i rubbed it where it said 18kt to see what it said might be junk not really in to jewelry dose have 12 stones.
