Got out today

Got out and did a couple of old parks today. Got a lot of pennies from the two parks including a few old ones. Four were U.S. wheat pennies. Nothing else very special except that I dug a cheap lock on the north side of the city then moved to the south side where I dug up a tiny key that worked in it.
Here's the loot for the day....

And the oldest coin for today...

Nice finds. Its a blast to dig up a piece of history, whether it is a relic or a coin. That is part of the reason I got into the hobby and also because it is fun. I wanted to find some old stuff in the ground. Congrats on the wheats and older coins. Hope you find more in the future. Thanks for the pictures and especially the close up on the 1931 Canadian Penny. That story about the Key and the lock is really interesting too. How far away from each other are the 2 sites?

The two sites are about 4 miles apart and on opposite sides of the river.

Congrats Scott! Nice! Hank

Finding a lock and the Key to fit it, is really rare. We find keys everyday and always wonder what they actually fit and how much heartache it caused the person who lost it.
