I was a able to get out again today and go back to a house i have hit close by for many years.
I poked along at a snails pace and managed a few goodies.
The wind was terrible at times it literally lifted my coil up and I had to walk with my back to the wind as I could not hear as it bellowed through my ear-cups.
My prize today for fighting the wind was a Eagle Button and it even had the shank still. I love adding those to my collection of buttons.
Also a large buckle looking piece, horse loop tack, a decorative lock plate cover, a flattie, and a 70 Shield Nickel. I also got some old wheaties but, I forgot to put them in the picture.
Anyone have a clue on the big buckle?

Hope everyone had a great day.

Awesome hunt Mike lots of goodies, i think the big buckle might be from a saddle strap just a guess?

Nice button Mike!! All I managed today was $1.11 in clad..was a rough day :(

I found that same button in the woods on the same day that you found yours. I looked it up and its a general service button from the 1850s. Only worth about $15 but a great find.
