Got out this morning for a bit

Went sand hunting looking for trinkets. Used the Explorer first with the stock coil. You know, while I really like the Exploder's discrimination features, I don't like the weight. I also noticed that it doesn't hit on low conductors like the T2 does. Didn't find any trinkets with it.

After about 1-1/2 hours I put it away and got out the T2. Man! Talk about arm relief! The T2 is postively a delight to swing!

It was very chattery today but I've learned to put up with the chatter at the sites were it does this. GC was between 89 and 92 and I left the sens on default. The sand is wet. Got several nice little trinkets with the T2. One was a heart stopper when I first uncovered it. Turned out not to have any stamp and the 61 reading vs the ring design just validates it as a junk ring but it was still a nice moment.

It was nice to get out and swing.

Thinking about selling the Explorer. I know I just got it but I noticed a few things today that make me want to move on.

Hope everyone got out.

Mike

ps...regarding the chatter, I find that I can still pick out the real targets from the chatter. Its just noisy.

Yes, I find this is true too. The chatter/interference makes it harder to read the ID data but one should't rely on that too much anyway.

Hi Mike,

Yes, The T-2 is such a delight to use when compared to the heavy OX Explorer. Plus, The T-2 will go through only 4 AA batteries in 40 hours while the Explorer goes through 32 to 40 AA batteries in the same period.

Plus, Because the T-2 hits on smaller targets the Explorer can't that eventually smaller pieces of gold jewelry will surface. Keep up the good work Mike.

I'm hanging with mine and learning. I have one site in particular where it just chatter's like crazy. It's an old site that has had a lot of use for nearly 200 years. I alway's find stuff there but it is a challenge with the T2. A few weeks ago when I was having a problem with the GC due to a bad connection and the cable to the box, I still found two buckles with it on the same day within a few feet of each other. Today I was back over there and it did GC for me at around 70 but chattered all around. I finally got frustrated and got out my Tejon and found two bullets, both are Civil War era and what look's like a cuff button. My favorite detector to use over there is my SovGT but I am trying to use the T2 and learn it. The GT is just so much more stable. I think once I learn the T2 better it will produce just as much as the GT and the Tejon. I hope so...
FWIW, my buddy uses an MXT with the coil that look's like the T2 coil and the MXT work's fine on this site...

I do LOVE the battery life on this thing, I am beginning to wonder if I will ever need to change the batteries...
