Got out long enough......

...to get my feet wet (raining) plus get in a few more hours polishing my detecting skills. Didn't find much to brag about but it sure felt good to get out and swing the old coil again. :detecting:

The dime on the far top right looks like silver when peeking out of the dirt while laying in the bottom of a fresh hole, but it's not. It's a 1988 Canadian and it's 100% nickel.

The dog tag with the gold tone sure had me going for a moment, when I laid the plug aside all that was showing was about an eighth of an inch of its edge. I new it wasn't a coin but sure looked to be gold.

You are lucky to get out. My wife and Made it back to the Philippines just before the snow storm. Right now I just don't have any ambichen to get out. I know all that I will find is tin cans. Oh well... KEN

Thanks for the post there Mr. K-- Be happy you can get out these days. Been by our local fairgrounds nearly every day. Happens to be where the city is dumping all the snow removal. I drool every time I drive by with the thought of what little treasures possibly could come along with the snow from the city lots. Then when I roll down the window to get a better look and this big droolsicle begins to form on my lower lip, I get shocked back into reality------------------HH-IB

Thanks for the comments. It's amazing how much discomfort one will put up with to satisfy an addiction. I do have my limits though, this year I've resorted to wearing insulated waterproof gloves, down vest and sweater under a hooded rain coat. My poor ole F70 had to make do with just a sandwich bag over it's head.
