Got Out in the Cold Cold Freshwater

Metal Magnet

New member
Well, time has been mighty scarce and I have been absolutely dying to try the AT out on a freshwater beach. So, I set up a time with a buddy of mine and we decided to hit a smaller one that we knew about. Unfortunately, Saturday was the day after the massive cold front came through. I woke up on Saturday and the temperature was 33 and the wind was whipping. Not to be deterred, I headed out. We met up and I donned my waders and boots. It was great to see the incredulous looks of people who sometimes walked by.

Bottom line is that the hunt stunk. I ended up with 61 cents. Boy, I scooped everything semi repeatable and good. But, I learned a lot just in that short amount of time. To me, that was totally worth the hunt!

I can take cold, and I can take wet...But Cold and Wet...You can have that...lol

HH,

Good hunt! 61 cents is a pretty good take for water hunting. Funny how this hobby (gold fever) gets us in a situation like that...,at least we are not bucking a ton of gear up through the Chilkoot pass in the middle of winter, but its only because we wern't alive back then!
