Got out for an hour yesterday...

despite sub-freezing temps and a cold north wind I hunted a couple of sites. The first site was a bean field where I looked for an early church meeting house site. I spent a half hour there swinging the 6x10 and only found the button with the anchor on it.

The gilt button and the two coins were found at an old home site in a corn field about a half mile from my home. I used the 5.3 concentric coil there but after a half hour of fighting corn stalks and the cold I call it quits and went home after the second coin was found. The IH is an 1879 and the other coin is a large cent, I think. I can't be positive since I can make out no detail but by weight and size it appear to be a very worn and holed large penny.

I'm going back today and either take my 4x6 shooter or maybe my F70 and 6in coil. Today it is supposed to get to the high 30's so at least it will be warmer.LOL

Great finds Phil. I love to see the Indians, green or not. Very nice finds and don't forget to take your hand warmers too. Thanks for sharing and HH to all, Nancy
