It was sunny, 45 degrees, low winds and still cold out. We went to the old yard where I got permission last week. The ground was froze 3" - 4" down. After that, it wasn't bad. I didn't last long after the sun started going down and Larry didn't need to be out long with his cold. My first dig was the old smashed thimble. Then when the owner was out, I dug the 1939 Merc. dime. It was stuck to a chunk of dirt. He thought that was pretty cool. Then I also found the chunk of lead. The owner said we were welcome back anytime. I had my stock coil on, but I will change to the 5.3 when we go back. It was pretty trashy on spots. He also showed me where the garbage dump use to be back in it's day. I can't wait till it warms up again. We will definitely return.......over and over again. Thanks for looking and HH to all, Nancy

I am happy you were able to get out and hunt that site. I love those Mercury dimes and I'll bet there is more there to be found. HH Dennis in Idaho

I'm sure there's much more, and hopefully we'll have an Indian Summer so we can play in their dirt again soon. If not, we'll have to wait till next year to get to it. Boy was it hard digging today. The Merc was only 2 1/2 - 3 inches deep. NICE!!! Thanks and HH to all, Nancy
