Got out for a few minutes today

I got a break today so I grabbed the new X70 and went to a local park. As luck would have it, it started raining so I had to stop early. I dug a few zinc pennies, quarters, bottle tops and lots of aluminum slaw. I sure do like the way it locks on a VDI and holds it there. My DFX hardly ever done that. I have a question on ground balance, when I finish the procedure it gives me a number say 36. What does this number stand for and does it tell you how mineralized the ground is?? If so, can someone tell me what kind of ground I have? I cant wait to get back out and try it some more, I already like it more than the DFX. I had fun not hav ing to worry about adjusting everything for a change!!!!

Good to see your are getting out with the X-70. Here is a link to a post concerning what the numbers mean.

In a nutshell, the lower the numbers on the X-Terra, the more mineralized your soil conditions are. Another way some people might refer to it would be "the lower the numbers, the more positive the GB setting will have to be" to compensate for more mineralized ground. At a 36, I would consider that site to be moderately mineralized. HH Randy
