First stop was a park I remember watching fireworks in when I was very young. At least 1' of fill. Stayed for about 15 minutes and started heading for a pounded park.
Along the way I spotted an empty lot that obviously had a house on it during the 1800's. Got permission from the next door neighbor (I think that counts) Hunted that for about two hours finding nothing. Couldn't figure it out until I got a nice $ signal and dug a pop can squashed end to end at least 1' down. Gave that up and went to the park.
I didn't do too badly. The soil is very clean and all the coins left are quite deep. I nailed the 1900 cent (literally) at 7.5 inches measured on the shovel blade. I don't post wheat's often but this one is so pretty in person. The very worn dime is a 1903.
