Got out for a bit today in some new spots for me...

I went to a friends today and she let me hunt her parents yard. I guesstimated the house to be about 1950 or so and I think I was right based upon my findings. I got 2 wheats out of the yard, 1939 and 1951D as well as a handful of memorials, all from the 1960s. The oddball coin from their yard was a 1927 Mexican 5 Centavos made of Bronze. It is about the size of a large cent, so when I pulled it out of the ground you can bet my excitement!

Then she took me to a park and I detected for about 30min while her kids played on the swings. The first signal I dug was about 4" deep. I pulled it out of the ground.... and a beautiful lady came out of the ground. It was an 1892 Silver Canadian 5 cent piece. It's about half the size of a dime. I also got a wheat penny out there as well and a few pieces of clad. I definately plan on checking that place out again.

The dime is in the first pic for size comparisons.

If you found those coins in the park in 30 minutes, then you can bet that there is alot more coins out there waiting for you to retrieve them. The park must have been detected before but maybe not thoroughly. Congrats on your finds and hope you find many more.

So I went back to that old park today that I found that 1892 Silver Canadian 5 cent piece yesterday afternoon. I managed to squeak out 2 wheat pennies, both dated 1917. They were each about 8" deep.

Then my friend stopped by and said her aunt had an old farmhouse just outside of town. Well of course I wanted to check that place out! We went out there and in the first 10min I dug 4 holes and had 2 Mercury Dimes, 1942D and 1944D and 2 wheats, 1929 and 1916D. Then we had to leave for a bit and then we came back. After another hour out there I only got 2 more wheats, 42 and 50 and then right as I was leaving I got a deep, iffy signal in a spot I had gone over several times already... and out popped a 1902 Indian Head penny. It was about 8" deep and under MANY roots. Everything else was in the 4" range.

I didn't take any pics because none of the coins are key dates and everyone has seen all of these coins already.
