Got out awhile this morn

This heat has been so bad here I haven't been able to get out like I want so I got up early this morn and went to the park up the road.
I know the ground is pretty dry so didn't wanna dig a lot so I just grabbed my probe, pin pointer, and my little dingy thing I got at tractor supply that I use for a coin popper.
I first tried the tot lot and found a few cents but not much I've been keeping it checked pretty good this year and guess it being so hot people just not going there as much now so I decided to move over by one of the baseball fields because right now they having games there daily except Sunday.
Found a few more clad coins around the out side of the fence between the dug out and out field where some folks brings their lawn chairs to watch the game (tip to new detectorist: these areas has always been a hot spot for me home and visitors side.)
I knew I couldn't stay long because sun was starting to beam on down so I just started hitting areas here and there and I wondered out in an open area and I started getting some good high numbers and bam I pulled a wheatie first one in this park I've found.
I zig zag a little more found a few memorials and dimes and pulled another wheatie not far from where I found the first one so I enjoyed this but was only able to stay a short time longer was getting sweaty and and could tell the heat was fixing to take it's toll on me so I came on to the house.
When I got home I checked my coins wasn't a lot it but hey I was only there maybe 2 hours but I found 4 quarters, 3 dimes, 2 nickels, several memorials I didn't count them and my 2 wheaties that I checked and the date was 1955 and 1942.
This is an old park but not that old so I'm thinking I may have stumbled upon something that use to be there before maybe an old house because on this road there's several old home places that has grown up but it shows on the property data that the county owns them so who knows but when it rains I'm gonna go back to that spot with my stock coil it's not trashy in that area and I want to be able to get down and dirty there today I was using my little shooter and I'm real proud of it.
Maybe this little hunt will curb my appitite because I was getting mighty hungry. lol

I know what you mean about it being so hot. It's hot here also with high humidity levels. I can't be out in it for long at all. No way can I be detecting. Sounds like you've got a great spot to detect. By all means, take that stock coil and put it to use. There's possibly an old coin or two there. Keep us posted and glad you could get out. Nice finds! HH, Nancy

Sounds like you did pretty good should be more there when weather permits you to get back . It hot here and rains some every few days so makes it really hard to get out here in Missouri . I got out to a old hunted out airport yesterday only had 9 coins in a hour and half but I figure around here I'm doing good as long as I don't get skunked . Five of those nine were nickels Nancy but 64 was the oldest this time . Good hunting Hope you get back out there soon Rounder ...

Harold, 5 nickels are better than my whole last month. Way to go!!! It's going to take a bit of time for me to catch up with your nickel count. Keep up the good detecting! Can't wait till the humidity leaves us all. HH, Nancy

Hey Harold, Finding an old house spot in a newer park or sports field is always good! Go slow and concentrated with those loop swings! Good luck!

Nice work on scoring those two wheats Ricky. Your hunch sounds good as far as an older unknown structure being on that site previously. ( I love that part of MD'ing ) Hope it pays off for you big time.
