Got out again today...

Weather is holding, a little colder today, ended up leaving just as the soil was refreezing, and my fingers weren't working so well.

I was going to head to where I detected yesterday, but upon driving through a town on the way I saw that an old house had been torn down. Started detecting that lot, then asked a couple of neighbors for permission and ended up doing their yards also. Never made it to the intended site.

All sites were quite junky, did pull a few but need to go back with some different time coils another day.

Indian heads are 1864, 1900, 1902, 1894-S Barber quarter(I double Ric'd it), 1909 V-nickel. The 1864 IH would have been my nicest for that date except that 130 years ago or so some yahoo tried to punch holes through it.

Tomorrow temps in the 50, but perhaps some rain. Might be another week before the ground refreezes.

That 1864 Indian would have been a High Grade. And too bad about the Quarter. Hate when something like that happens to a nice looking coin. You did very well again Chris, I just wish I could get out and dig a bit. The ground is froze and it doesn't look good tonight. It is raining very lightly now and it looks like a windy day for tomorrow. I was hoping to get out with a pick but I will have to see how windy it is and how cold. Congrat's on another successful hunt and hope you get in a couple more before freeze-up. Good Luck and HH.

Another great day. Grats on the silver and of course the Injuns. What is the felt tip on the quarter?

Hey James,

I think having the all the snow saved us; kept the ground from freezing solid.

I've got a long ways to go to even get close to what you found this year.
