Today it was my hunting buddy and my son.
Headed out to a Lil town and did some door knocking. It was a beautiful day with temps in the high 60s.

The place we got the go ahead on was built late 1860s. Not sure if it had ever been hunted but, I kind of doubt it.
My first digs where two wheat's and then my third great signal was a loud high right. The kind of hit you do no expect if a place has ever been hunted especially in the front yard.
Around 8" inches under a large root I popped out a Large Cent. Turned out to be a nice condition 1849.
During my hunting my hunting buddy had dug a bunch of clad, 42 Merc and a little cross.
My son had also dug a wheat and a 28 Merc an old button and two hot-wheels. He thought it was cool to dig a trans am/firebird as that is what he owns.

The nice thing is the owner gave us permission to return anytime even if they are not home.
Lady luck has been really good to me lately and I hope it continues till the end of the season.
We will see as I plan to get out again with my son tomorrow.

Below is a pic of the LC as dug.

Thanks for looking and HH everyone.

That's one of the best LC's I've seen posted. I think the later large cents had better quality metal. Nice one, Mike.

n/t

No kidding. Boy would I love to own one now.
When I was growing up I owned a 69 Coronet RT coupe. Boy I wish I had held onto it. Bought it for two grand and it was rust free.
A guy down the road actually owned three Superbirds back then also.

Love those Large Cents - good job !
