Got my Sidewinder

My Sidewinder came yesterday. From what I understand, the Sidewinder is the first of the uMax size detectors from Tesoro. This is the oldest Tesoro I have used. It's definitely different from my other uMax machines. The shaft has no locks and is very wobbly. The headphone jack is the small 1/8 size. It's tone is very high piched, the threshold sounds like a mosquito buzzing! I took it hunting yesterday and found $0.76 in clad. The tone modulation is very good, close objects are loud, farther away the softer the signal. It has no motion all metal with retune like my Outlaw. I really like this feature. I did experience a problem with EMI yesterday which I found odd. I've hunted this area before with my other machines and never had a problem. Depth wise it seems about the same as my Eldorado. All in all I like the Sidewinder. I'm going to add some shaft locks and it'll be a great backup / loaner / keep in the Jeep detector.
