Headed out with my hunting buddy today and hit a new place. What a fantastic homeowner.
This lady even wanted us to check inside her barns. She was a hoot.
Well, I got my oldest LC this year today it was a quite deep about 11" and I new it was a old copper but had to get a tad of water on her to see if she still had a date.
After a quick splash of water she turned out to be a 1820. I also dug a cow bell and a piece of a old spoon.
I had planned and was headed towards the 100 acre woods where I go allot but, I am glad I stopped here first.
Lots of hunting there and I was told to come back anytime. Next time the pace will be very slow as now I know there are serious oldies there.
Below is a pic. of the LC as I pulled her from the bottom of the hole.

Below is looking from the old homestead site off onto her property. It shows just how nice today was.

Then we headed off to the woods where I like to wander. Finds will always be around so I am not really methodical about my approach there.
There I was able to get some old wheats, a 35 Wash., a little flattie and a lil buckle.
The pictures show the LC, Bell, and spoon tip along with the woods hunt below.

Time was short spent hunting today but, I came away with the oldest for me this year so, I am pleased.

Thanks for looking and I hope everyone has a great rest of the week.

Sweet way to get the year started, congrats!

I cannot complain about 1820 for oldest this year but, I think I will have a hard time beating my oldest a 1734 Spanish 1 Realle.
As far as the condition of the old LCs etc. some are decent and some are not. I say minerals, moisture be it in low lying area or hill, and fertilizer plays a huge role on how they come out of the ground.

Thanks Again.
