Got my new MXT on Friday

Went out to my "test Garden" to try it out. My "test garden" is not a regular test spot, just the place I wash my gear down after a day of water hunting. I always lose a few coins there so some are recent and some were lost many years ago. I tried the Eclipse DD coil first found 2 quarters, 3 dimes, and five pennies.
Put the stock 950 coil on and searched the same spot again and located got a signal that wouldn't lock in and found a stack of 6 pennies and one dime about an inch down laying sideways, a nickle, and eleven more pennies that I missed with the eclipse coil. Also found a carb part I lost from my weedwhacker about 12 years ago. Saturday morning I went to a remote beach to try out dry sand. I hadn't been there 10 minutes When a lady comes up and asks if I could find her 1ct diamond stud earring she lost several days ago. Well I couldn't find it (machine limitation or operator inexperence?). I did pick up 1 quarter, 2 nickles, 1 dime, and 14 very corroded zinc pennies. Also a couple fishing leads. Well, enough practise so off to the 1919 School house.
As soon as I got out of my truck a caretaker showed up to kick me off the property. So a quick call to the owner and I'm back in business. Several hours later and nothing to show except a melted blob of lead, a pull tab and a modern spoon. So much for virgin territory. There is a country store next to the old school house so I went in to get something to drink. The lady that manages to store asks if I found any thing so I showed her the junk. Then she told me she had found lots of coins by eyeball and pulled out a big jar full of coins. Looked to be about 30 Ike dollars and even more Kennedy halves, some SLQ's, merc dimes, rosie dimes ect. She found them all in one place!. A water pipe from the building had broke and the water was washing them out. from a 3 foot deep hole. I asked her if she used a detector to look for more and she said no. I know she couldn't have found everything that was there so I asked her to show me where. Well it was too late, they built a deck over the area.Turns out the store used to be the plantations paymaster's office. Every friday the workers would line up and collect their pay for the week at a window. Now I know why those silver dollars I found awhile back were in a cloth bag. Thats how they were paid, in cash in a cloth bag. On one wall of the paymasters office were cubby holes with a number. The workers would show their number tag and the paymaster would give them the bag from the matching number cubby. The lady wanted to see how the MXT worked so we went out front of the store. I scanned an area and told her nothing here and she bent over and picked up 4 zinc pennies she spotted, guess I have some more practise to do. Then I asked her if she knew where the old movie house was. Well she closed the store and walked me over to where it was and pointed to steps (all that is left) and said it was right there. Movies used to cost a nickle to get in. It was getting late so we made plans to meet up later this week so she could show me where the baseball field and workers housing was, and she said she will bring pictures from when everything was still there. I stopped at a school playground on the way home and picked up $3.12 in clad, a bullet lead and several pencils. And I didn't dig any nails!. Oh yea I tested with a large gold wedding band on the ground and the MXT's meter said VDI=50 Screwcap so I guess I'll still be digging those.Going water hunting with the PI Sunday, I just gotta get some gold.
Thanks for reading

I got my new MXT about a week ago and took it to the park. It has been worked to death by everyone! In four days I averaged about 100 coins a day. "Not" one silver coin or a single wheat back penny. I found one silver and turquois ring and small silver and turquois necklace. Really like my MXT and am ordering the Excelerator 5" coil today. Can't wait till I move back to Tampa in a couple of years! <img src="/metal/html/cry.gif" border=0 width=40 height=15 alt=":cry">
