GOT MY NEW EXCAL 1000 QUESTION

WHATS THE BEST WAY TO WRAP THE LOOOOOONG COIL CABLE AROUND THE BOTTOM SHAFT? IM HAVING A HECK-OF-A-TIME GETTING IT TO LOOK LIKE THE PICTURE.

I just put my new Excal together a couple days ago. I gave up on trying to make it pretty like the picture and just did the best I could. The hard part came after twisting the cable by twisting the lower shaft and then trying to insert the lower shaft into the upper shaft. Oh, I also purchased the balanced shaft and discarded the upper shaft that comes with the unit. I don't know if that makes a difference.

It takes 2 sets of hands aquacop911. Spin the coils around the shaft tightly at the top, but leave a coil loop, in case the coil flips up. If you are in warranty, do not cut your own wire. If you decide on the straight shaft, then when the unit is sent in for repairs, you can request that the wire be cut by a trained factory technician. I personally use the Lightening Rod straight shaft. When mine was sent in, I requested that my wire be cut to 40" and it is perfect! No more 15 coil wraps around the stem. I love it! After wrapping the wire, you may need to secure it with electrical tape to anchor it properly. Be patient, it will work, as I have done it and dealt with this hassle.

Mine doesn't look like the picture either. I don't really care about what it looks like as long as it finds the booty and that it does. One thing you need to do is wash it off after every use. Never put it up until you have wash it completely.
