Jaime, Little Joe and I headed for the river early this morning, left at 6am, got there at 7:15am. This reminds me of what happened to Mudpuppy, his hunts give me alot of inspiration. We have only hunted this place on the river twice, the first time we just found coins and we lost count of the pulltabs, never have found a ring. We were finding lots of coins and about 2 hours into the hunt I got my first silver ring, atleast, I thought it was a silver ring. The tone on my excal was a little on the high side and not midlow like the gold rings, I never looked at the ring, just put it in my pouch and kept hunting. I thought I had a heavy silver ring because it just felt heavy. After 5 hours of hunting we came home, Jaime found close to as many coins as I did and a small gold earring and a 14k nugget ring, Little Joe only found coins. When I got home I took the finds out and showed my wife, she said, is that a nugget silver ring, I said yes it is. Then she said, yes, it's got 90 plate inside. I didn't understand what she was talking about so I took the ring and it was 90 plat., not plate. I was shocked, couldn't believe it. I called Jaime and Little Joe, they couldn't believe it either. I've always read where guys find platinum rings, feels good to finally find one. We will be going back to the river next week, it's a little different from hunting the beach. The ring is slightly bent but I will be keeping this one..... Thanks for looking, I'm still on cloud 9. HH John
