got the eldorado today and its sweet for sure did some testing and getting almost 12" super tuned on a clad qauter 7 to 8" on dime almost 10" on a nickel i hope this baby is the one that going to sniff out the old coins at the colonial home sites for sure! have a 4" sniper coil i got with it too so hoping to get more coils with it as well!

The EL Dorado is a fine fine machine. I prefer it over my Vaquero. When I stumble on good hunting grounds and need to get serious I reach for it first. It talks to me!

I've been testing out my Eldorado this week. Air tests aren't great (about 10-11" on a clad quarter while supertuned). I haven't done a depth test in the ground yet, but with my mineralized soil, I'll be lucky to get 6-7" I'm guessing. Very light, stable machine though.

well not sure where your located mojave but thats pretty respectable for most machines and i find most of coin stuff right around 6" thats old, don't under estimate it yet!

Yeah, I'm going to do a test garden whenever the rain stops out here. I'll test it against the Silver Sabre that I also acquired recently. Hopefully they go deeper than I think.

well i'm hoping the ground balance will make the big difference, by the way have you ever tried the 12 x 10 coil on the eldo?

i tried it and didnt like it on the eldorado. got better depth from the 8in brown. i loved it on the silver umax! wow did it ever wake it up.

I tried and did not like the 12x10 also. In shopping for a 8x9 for a Silver I had a dealer ask why, they are basically the same ?.
I played with coils on my El Dorado, and the web did go deeper than the round, in my yard anyway. Never been big on swapping coils around but want a web for the silver from the get-go. If I get trash or working next to a concrete edge or border the stock round works well for me but I switch detectors, not coils. I guess If I had extra shafts I would do it.

i've also tried the 12 x 10 on the golden umax as well and got lousy results with that so i'm going with the 11" wide see what happens
