Got my DFX!!

I got my DFX and it looks great! I gave it a quick test run in some of the basic settings and it seems to be an awesome machine! In just a few minutes on my fron lawn I dug some modern coinage and each time the VDI was on the money! (no pun intended). I did notice it read much deeper (2.5") on a coin that was only 1/2" deep. Should I lower the D.C. gain?

I have a large city park where I hunt and I run the Coin / Jewelry pre program with only 3 adjustments (1) tone ID on (2) DC up to 35 (for my Sunray probe to work better) (3) Pre amp to 4

At time I must double plug most of my digs.

when pinpointing for depth make sure your coil is push below the grass as the grass can throw it off. especially tall grass and the depth is only accurate on coin size objects.

My DFX still amazes me as on Tuesday a section of this park is littered with pull tabs ( every swipe is a pull tab reading) and after working it for 1 hour i was able to recover a gold Ring and hand full of clad

Have fun with your new toy Neil.

Robert, try turning on the VCO option. It will make pinpointing a snap and it will be right on the $$.
