got my delta and it was BROKE!!!!!!!!!! HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM??????????????????

i got my brand new delta 4000 today readed the book put it together powered it up and did some air test the most depth i could get was 2inchs no joke so then i tryed changeing all the setting around thinking that would fix it but no matter what i did 2inchs was all i could get so i tryed a few coins and the id was way way wrong half doller was 65 dime and quarters where 55 56 zinc and copper were 45 47 i was like wtf so i called the place were i got it from he told me to call tecnetics so i did and got no help what so ever at this point i am pissed off so i called .....colonial metal detectors.... witch is who i got it from and talked to rich told him what had went on with the call to tecnetics he droped what he was doing and pulled a new delta out of the box and tested it for me and put it in the mail took care of me right away and was very nice to me the hole time and called me back right away he will get all of my business from now on tecnetics makes the best in my mind i just got a bad 1 the thing that bugs me is they didnt help me and fix the problem they need to work on the customer service big time in my eyes i am not happy with the way i had to handle this any ideas guys as to what could have been wrong with it
 
I know the experience sucked, but Colonial took good care of you. It's sad, but true. Sometimes dealers have to pick up the slack on the customer service end. But maybe you can expand a little here, when you say, you called First Texas about your problem, and got no help???
 
i asked if//// i /// payed for the over night shiping if they could send me a new one he said no then he said on the cheap detector they dont do that i guess he thought i was scum for not buying a 1000 doller detector and wasnt worth his time but rich treated me very well lets not forget he is paying for all this shiping out of his pocket witch shows me alot maybe in a few days ill cool down about this but i need my detector for me to cool down i love diggin in the dirt lol ps has anyone else had the id problem?????
 
They should have done the exchange.......regardless of the cost of the unit..especially since you were paying for overnight shipping.....which ain't cheap by no means.
 
i knew i wasnt crazy i just feel i was not treated well and i was going to buy a G2 but now i think my next will be a mine lab witch is sad because i realy like tecnetics but if thats how i am to be treated ill spend my hardernd money with somone else this is the funny part my uncle has a G2 and a t2 se and had a problem with one he has they fixed him up right away soooo thats what makes me think unless u spend your life savings good luck getting any help with a problem with the brand new detector u jusy got from them just my thoughts
 
the one i had a problem with was the omega. they were very good to me. most companies will have you contact your dealer where you purchased it for the first so many days. your detector looked beat up. most likely a shipping problem. we have all had things like this happen. i had 2 whites machines have that happen. these companies will take care of these problems. you can use my g2 tomorrow if ya want. i may go out too.
 
Just my opinion any new machine you get through a dealer and it's broke on delivery..Should be replaced by the dealer..I know mine would do so instantly..Yours sounds like a good one too. I hate when a dealer who took your money "sends" you to the factory on a new delivered Broken machine. Just isn't right.
I would never buy again from a dealer who pulled that on me. I also most likely would not buy from a dealer who I know has done that to other people...

Now that's just my opinion..not etched in stone..all of us are different.. You may not mind having to fight with the manufacturer.. I do.. The dealer should do that part with his return policy from the manufacturer.
 
that is spot on but in this case the dealer took real good care of me it was tecnetics service department that let the ball drop when they had a chance to hit a home run!!!! i wasnt that mad about the hole deal until i got blew off by tecnetics i mean me my uncle and alot of hour freinds r starting to get into detecing i will send them to rich at colonial md because he took such good care of me ill just tell them to have rich test the detector befor he ships it that would solve the ??? of did it work befor shiping or did ups mess it up i guess ill never know but i had rich test this 1 he said it was working good so he shiped it if this one dont work when i get it u will see in the news about i guy in ohio kills a ups man lol ps i hate snow and rain i cant whate till i can dig in the dirt agin. good luck and happy huntin

any brand machine may have a problem..don't base your using that brand for one incident..base it on how your dealer took care of you..

Your dealer is the representitive of the Brand you bought....he makes the difference.
 
well if you receive a bad item from any small business its the small business that needs to make it right anyway. teknetics will take good care of you after that. they are a good company. i get broken items from cabelas sometimes, fishing or hunting gear, so if my st. croix fishing rod is broke i call cabelas not st. croix because it has nothing to do with warranty, its a shipping problem so cabelas takes care of it. this thread is getting blown out of proportion.
