Got my Cortes! FINALLY!

Hello All,
Got an E-mail from the dealer who had a used Cortes for sale that he had sent to the factory to be re calibrated. It was a 5 hour drive one way to go get it. But you gotta do what you gotta do, so I took off work and left at 5 am. It was a beautiful day for a drive, birds a singin', sun a shinin'! ( Only got lost twice ) Anyway, the shop was in downtown Gettysburg, ( Gettysburg Electronics ) very nice people to deal with. ( Thanks Don! ) Don went over the machine with me, talked me into a sniper coil and rod, and I was on my way home by noon. Got home at 5 and hit the back yard to try it out. Found either a zinc penny or dime within two minutes but can't did cause of frost. Sposed to be a warm-up this week-end so we'll see. Any way, my first impression of the Cortes is a good one. Very light, which was a deciding factor for me. The display is small but so far doesn't bother me. Seems to pinpoint great. (Cant be positive till I can dig) I hope it is deep enough to suit me, time will tell. Sorry for being so long winded!

Jim
