Rosemary Anderson, the editor, stating how great it was to have my stuff in their magazine again and encouraging me to send more stuff in. It's nice to be missed. :)

If you go to the top of the page and click on the first post regarding the Sun Ray Invader field test you can read the article.

How's that work Bill? Do you buy a piece of equipment or a manufacture lends you something, you test it, write your opinion about it, then send it to a magazine with hopes of it being published?
I always thought those field tester guys just sat around in some editors office and just waited for the UPS delivery full-time.

...for Bill, it works differently than it might for most of us. He does a review, and the magazines CLAMOR to get it from him. That's the Revis Effect.

Enjoyed your article on the Sunray Probe, Bill.

Been considering one for my Ace 250, and now I'm sure to get one for next spring

Plus the manufacturers request my services. Been doing this a long time. Been testing for Garrett for ten years or so. Some mags have regular field test editors like Andy Sabisch for Lost Treasure and Ben Meyers for W&ET, and me for Gold & Treasure Hunter before they went tits up, then the manufacturers can request someone to do the test, as it was in this case.

Nah that ain't the way it works. It helps if you have considerable experience with a multitude of detectors, have decent writing skills, are known by the hobby public as well as the manufacturer. The magazine can pick you or the manufacturer can pick you. If you conduct and write good, honest, reports then you get picked again or permanently.
