Got my Compadre!

Got my Comapdre in the mail today from a member I bought it from. Its the 5.75 coil. What are the common airtests with it? I seem to be getting a dime at 5", penny at like 6-6 1/2"...nickel at like 7", quarter at 6". That normal?

Looking at some other peoples test results I saved that looks to be about right. Don't get too caught up in the depth as the Compadre is not known for being a depth monster. From what I have read if the target is in the first six inches of soil the Compadre will nail it. If ever there was a detector that was guarenteed to pay for itself, I believe it would be the Compadre hands down.

Thanks...i mainly got it for jewelry anyways, so i think i'll be good there

Seems about right to me, too. Put in some hours getting to know your machine and you'll be posting lots of goodies.

That's about the norm for far as depth goes.I run mine with the disc.set right on the "L" in Foil. Now if you run it where it just knocks out iron you'll gain a little more depth and also be able to find the smaller gold items,to me though i'm pretty set at running it where i stated but do run the disc. as high as the "A" in Pulltab and still get decent depth with it and still able to find the gold and silver.I been running my 5.75" Compadre for going on 2 years now and it's paid itself off over and over, those high end machines are good for some but this little Compadre is just so darn addictive and fun to swing.Good luck with your new Compadre and HH

I really like my Compadre. I have 2 now. I converted my 5.75 into a water machine and I just got an older 7" one. After extensive testing I run mine around the middle of iron and leave it there. I hunt mostly for jewelry. I came to use this setting by using my wife's jewelry collection. I took every gold ring and item she had and set the Compadre so it would find as much as possible. I find little earrings with it occasionally. I have had many detectors but only the Compadre has ever found me a gold ring. Good luck with it.

That was about right for me too Bobby! I did gain about an inch more depth by tweaking the sensitivity trimmer on the circuit board. You can turn the trimmer counter-clockwise in very small increments and gain some depth. That was one reason I mentioned the F2, due to the better depth.

Bobby that sounds about right to me. The Compadre hits as well on nickels as it does on quarters if the discrimination is kept real low.

The only problem with that COMPADRE , is that after you start to swing it and start finding the very small items, Your other detectors will get very dusty. I been swinging mine now for about 3 years. I now have 3 of them . Two her in America and one in the Philippines. I also have two Vaqueros and one Tiger Shark. You will be surprised at the depth you will get out of it. Have a blast and show us some pictures. I even show pictures of the trash that I find. I also find the small gold and silver. Have hun... KEN

Thanks guys...I live close to some tot lots and parks and stuff so I'm hopin for some jewelry

When you are looking for tot lots, don't forget schools, parks, Behind churches. Other small towns near you have play grounds that some of us don't think about... KEN

Oh yea for sure. I got a few places already in mind to give the compadre a try

thats righ on , I also turned up the gaine on it but not all the way just under wheat it chatters, , make shure you hunt around the metal poles and fences because it beats most detectors at that and you will find good stuff no one else can get at I hit quarters at 6" in the field, and dimes pennys as deep as 5" its going to do its best on gold rings and brass, great in the shallow water to , and it will find the small things,
