Got my CoinStrike about an hour ago UPS!

compared to the Explorer and other detectors I've had. Almost don't even think it may need hip mounted.

Now I just need to learn her language. Let her sing to me her sweet song.

"If you don't wrap it around a tree the first week, you'll love it". They were right! It is an awesome detector, but it takes a little patience to get into the "swing" of things....

My first hunt with the CoinStrike was a momentous occasion. I soon discovered that the air made a signal and the whole world was made of iron and that I could save the preset program into every memory locations without even trying to. And I learned all this standing in the rain

Yep....might want to stay away from the trees for the first couple of outings with it

-25 or even -40, this will help to stabalize the C$ while you are learning it, then with the more hours you get on her, the higher you can kick up the sesitivity & threshold. After about 100 hours on mine, I now run most regularly sesitivity 7-8 & threshold -10 and sometimes -5 depending on where I hunt. I always use auto tracking, never use the averaging feature, but I will have to try it one of these days.

My first day, I thought I had to remove the 4 little squares up along the right side in order to hear everything. I soon found out it was completely the opposite! :lmfao: Now I always say...."see a square, hear a signal"

Everywhere was the same

Ahhhh, only now do I understand why soccer fields were so strongly recommended for my first C$ outing. No trees!
It was VERY good advice.

O.K. mtdoramike. This morning inside my home I could run sens up to 10 and it was still stable. I tried running threshhold up to three but the constant humm drove me batter.

Strange, though, if I use saved programs 1-3 it has a threshhold of +3 and yet it is quiet. Any reason why?

Thanks Richard.
Every now and then I'll stumble onto a nice relic. Found a New York Militia button about a year ago here from around the late 1700's to 1810. Found a small indian axe head about 50 foot from it. One never knows when you start detecting in all metal.
