Got my BHID yesterday!! even more questions...

Just got it yesterday and was playing with it in the yard. Pic is of the coil. Now it's time for 101 questions............Everytime I move a control, gb,sens, thres. the machine makes a false/chirp.(normal?) If I turn the sens wide open it goes into a costant squeal w/ all target responses as high and only hits 2-3 inches off the coil.(normal?) I can definatly tell it has processed audio.(something new for me)
An 8.1g 14k ring hits solid at about 8 inches on an air test. Id's Yellow and a flick of green. The audio seems lower than the other machines I'm used to using. (I think i'm just getting old and deaf) I like the layout and design of the machine. I'm thinking the coil is going to float have to figure a way to weight it down. Taking it down to the gulf of mexico for a spin this eve prob will work the wetsand and see what turns up. I may dig all targets to see how the machine acts. Also building confidence in the ID. Always fun to learn a new machine. I'm sure I'll have more questions.

You usually want the sensitivity as high as possible with out being erratic. Simply reduce the sens until the unit is stable. Talking with my co-worker, he said that is pretty normal for the unit to chirp/beep when adjusting the controls. As for the buoyant loop, attach a divers weight to the middle rod or you can give us a call. We designed a weight using PVC pipe that attaches to the middle rod and it's only $9.95 and it's usually one day shipping to AL. 1-800-547-6911

SET THE SENS AT "P" LEAVE IT THERE...THIS DETECTOR IS VERY SENSITIVE...AND YOUR LEARNING IT...SET THE GROUND AS IT SAYS...OR SET IT JUST BELOW 1/2 WAY FOR SALT..BUMP IT UP A BIT IF IT NEEDS...ALMOST NEVER MORE THAN THE 1/2 WAY MARK....SET THE THRESH HOLD SO IT BARELY HUMS...OR A LITTLE LESS..I WOULD START OFF HUNTING IN ALL METAL MODE IN THE WET SAND..USE YOUR LIGHTS TO ID TARGETS.YOU'LL ONLY HAVE THE SINGLE TONE IN THIS MODE.. DIG EVERYTHING GET TO KNOW IT...OR JUST DIG YELLOW+GREEN OR COMBOS OF THE TWO....YOU WILL GET TARGETS THAT GIVE MULTIPLE LIGHTS...ANY RED IN THE MIX ITS IRON,STEEL...JUNK...EVEN THE SLIGHTEST BLINK OF RED..ITS JUNK!!! DIFFERENT STEEL ALLOYS ECT GIVE YOU YELLOW GREEN AND RED ALL TOGETHER...ANY RED...IT'S JUNK!!!!...CHEST MOUNT IT WITH THE BAG THEY SENT YOU!!!!!! ITS THE BEST WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if you drilled two holes opposite of each other. These would be about 1.5 inches from the edge on top of the coil. Then buying enough epoxy to fill the coil. You would have to buy the epoxy that has the mixing tube. Turn the coil up on it's side a fill the coil from the bottom hole until it comes out the top. Could work?
