Met up with John Lowe, JB, Randy, and Butch Baker for a little Charlestown hunting. Hit this spot for 6 1/2 hours with very little results. Ground was as hard as concrete John and I were getting ready to roll out, when I FINALLY DUG MY FIRST PLATE <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D"> <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D"> <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D"> I hit it real good with my shovel though <img src="/metal/html/frown.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":(">

I've been doin OK I guess. Hate to hear about your wife's health problems. Hope she's getting better. Nice belt plate!! I'd love to find one. ( preferrable a C.S. LOL <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol"> ) Take care and HH.

Speaking for myself, I don't know about good, lucky maybe <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol"> Check your e-mail, I am sending you the first 2 that I have submitted. At thispoint in time, they are short, sweet and to the point. As soon as I get the final reports from the archaeologists, I will forward them too. We are not finished, the area is too overgrown to proceed right now. We plan on picking up where we left off in the fall <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">
Should be interesting comparing the archaeologists mapping with ours......
Still working on getting all of the history together and putting it on paper too <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

For me to dig that palte then sneak over next to the truck and plant it in a spot you would find it with out being seen. All that so you would have a good B-Day. LOL LOL. Just kidding Mike.

As hard as we have been working for our first one, and seeing my reaction when James got his first, I think you would have jumped in the truck with that plate, hauled a**, and left me behind eating dust <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol">

... glad I was on that trip with you. Just wish I was there when you dug the plate. I was the "Nail Daddy" on that trip but this weekend I'll redeem myself <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol"> and hopefully spend more time with you guys... HH

I know you've been looking hard for your first plate. My first was a box plate and looked worse than yours. One week to the day I found a mint US belt plate in Nashville.
