Used for a bit found 3 dimes and 4 linc pennies all clad in about half hour hunt. Nothing special I know but it was friggin cold. Do you guys recommend a coil cover? Anything else I should know?

A coil cover is always an excellent idea.

Just remember the headphones that come with the AT are not the waterproof version, so if you are going into the water, do not let those headphones get wet.

Coil cover depends on the type of ground you are hunting. Grass and sand no need to bother with a coil cover, rocky...you can use one if you like to scuff the ground. I never use a coil cover (on my AT-Pro's) and I beat the tar out of my coils. Remember if you do use a cover, you need to remove it often to clean it out or you can do as much damage with debris in there grinding on the coil.

I've known some guys that said they didn't use coil covers, but I have always used coil covers. Just need to take them off and clean once in a while. Also helps if you ever want to sale your coil.
