Got my AT Pro back from Garrett yesterday

Garrett service is top notch. Got a few things fixed on the box and a new coil. No more falsing.
It is sweet. Can't wait to hunt it again.

12 working days turnaround time from the day I dropped it off at Fed Ex to when I got the UPS delivery attempt notice on my door.

That sounds like Garrett. There is talk that the AT-Pro was rushed through development. It certainly seems that way, what with the connectors, coils and water leaks we've seen. The basic concept is sound, that much is certain.
But Garrett continues to make good on these problems, so kudos to them.

I do wonder about their hiring an Indonesian circus midget to do the ergonomics, though. That seems an odd choice.

I can appreciate Garrett's integrity regarding the quick turnaround time. But with the idea that the machine may have been rushed through production, how long before we see their production line re-engineered or retooled accordingly. For example, would the 2011 model have all the kinks worked out by then?

Good question.
In truth, I dont see an "improved" model anytime soon. The reason is the actual circuitry, housing and other main components are not the issue.
The problem has been with coil internals (microphonics), connectors and seals. These are all out-sourced and/or off-the-shelf and CAN be changed without substantially effecting the flow of production.
The "Munchkin" ergonomics and too-small cuff stand most likely will not change at all.

The post was removed, but yes....they are making some changes.
