So I took it out briefly yesterday just to make sure it worked and found a penny and dime at the beach. Today I took the day off and went to some small beaches near my house and was determined to dig everything so I could learn the sounds and pinpointing with my new coil. It still PP's with the button on my GTI 2500 but it isn't the same as with my imaging coil it seems. But I like it! A Lot! I spent 5 hours with it today and I think I am starting to get the hang of it. Also I started using "All Metal" mode on dry sand and man what a blast that is! Oh it beeps and blips but I ignored all but the good sounds, and the solid faint sounds, I was finding tiny things down at 12+ inches, all junk, but still! I gotta say I am loving this new DD on my machine. I just need to take it to the park now and test it out there. Can't wait! :bouncy:

Here's my finds for today, mostly junk but that is what I expected! But I did get 33 cents and a nice 1oz fishing weight!
 
nice finds ! thanks for posting them pics. snow is melting here in PA just got the detector ready for some :detecting:
 
Nice hunt!:garrett::detecting:Any one of those pulltabs could have been a gold ring! That search coil is ideal for the beach.:thumbup:I've used the GTI 2500 on the beach/dry sand more than any machine I've had. ALOT. It's a great machine with great depth. I use the Infinium LS out on the wet sand and in the surf. I'm gonna be tryin' out my AT Pro at the salt water beaches soon. I think it may become my new dry sand machine. That 15kHz is hot on gold!. I've made lots of good finds over the years with that GTI 2500, though and I'll continiue to use it. Thanks for sharing!:biggrin: Happy Hunting!:)
 
Yeah as far as I know they make one for the ACE as well, it just a different connector than the one for the GTI. I am loving mine! HH :garrett: :detecting:
 
Yeh I took my GTI 2500 out for a spin yesterday nugget hunting with it and the new 11x8.5" DD coil...let me tell ya...I was impressed! It handled very well this hot dirt here. No nuggets but had a good time and learned a bit more how the 2500 will handle with the new DD on it.

I did find an old square nail at 12" and had room to spare on depth. I didnt believe the depth meter said 10"...but sure enough was even deeper.

Good combo that new DD and the 2500. Enjoy it! I do ...

Yeah, I took her out today, to a park I hadn't hunted before and there was a ton of trash all around with coins in between. The recovery speed on the GTI is fast anyway, but with the narrow field of the DD it was screamin' fast and was able to cherry pick coins. I am so impressed with this coil on my 2500, I don't even miss the imaging.
