Got my 705 together tonight

Rained cats and dogs all day.
Someone tell me they've tried theirs and it IS faster. This was one of the reasons I moved up.

What is faster, the swing speed and/or Tracking and/or recovery time and/or what ?? Thanks!

Swing speed and recovery time are one in the same.
But yes, that is my question.

Update? Happy? Mad? Confused? Want a refund? I'm in the market for a 705 and would like to hear some feedback. :)

I love Minelab products and use them almost exclusively.
The short time I used the 705, it reminded me of when they first went to the SE. with the slimline coil.
Maybe with enough patients I would be happy with it. But for now I just like to step out of the truck and fire up old faithful and not worry about falsing and adjustments and go hunting. I'm sure it is a great machine. But I'm happy with my 70

I now have 2. Just to be sure I have a backup.
Been working with the 3kHz coil and am beginning to like it. Always used the 10" DD but bouy does the Low really sound off on small copper buttons.

Yep, and it rocks on silver coins too.

So maybe you need to work with the settings for getting that extra they added...

I would thnk, and if I read it right the improved ground balance would improve depth in certain soils..

The flyer they sent out said faster and deeper. As the big boys have quoted, it's not deeper and I can personally say the processor is no faster.
Now, Before I get into a heated discussion over the new face plate and back light, I'll see you all in the field.

I've not found a single freq any better for audio target ID. If you're not running with multiple tones in all metal mode, give that a shot. With proper coil manuvering, there are a lot of "little" audio signals that provide a "lot" of information. JMHO Randy

I noticed some of that right off. Learned real fast to notice the edges of iron and pass them up where the other coils took a little more playing around with. I got over an Ox knob this afternoon the tone that came from this target was one I never heard from the 70 before. The nicest, sweetest higher than silver tone you ever herd. Hand made and solid Brass.
