My F75 worked OK for the first week than lost almost all audio, I operated on it & now it works better then ever.

What I did was open up the battery box & gently separate all the wires so none were touching each other then car fully reassembled it & turned it back on, wow it worked again, volume back plus sensitivity seems even better.

Not sure why this worked but it did ?

Bobby.

Based on what you did to solve it I would guess a bad contact/connection somewhere. Moving the wires may have closed the circuit . . . but might not be a permanant solution. If you lose it again we'll know.

Yep Charlie, I was lucky, but if anyone would like to have a peek inside thay may well wonder who did the solderimg on there machine .

Thanks Jim, I played around & saves heaps returning a unit that just needed a little touch up.

Where are the F75s Assembled ?

Bobby.

glad you finally got it all sorted out in the end bobby

fisher usa are sending me another middle and bottom stem direct from usa on the instructions from Tom Walsh president of fisher (what a nice man)who say`s they don`t listen to their customers.

full marks to them :clapping:

puts our british distributors to shame as all they done was sanded down a spare bottom stem and told me to try that !!!!

Hi Horder, I had to fix it myself, got sick of waiting for the dealer , but just as I got it going Tinfoils magic seemed to get a return offer from his conntacts ( Thanks Tinfoil ).

Whats interesting is the dealer charged me just over 70US for postage but the postage on the box said $59.40US, did I get ripped ?

But after all that Iv'e got a better detector now, it was good for a week but lost its audio, now its better then when it first arrived !

Disc 7, sen 30, tone 3, DE mode, any higher and you get to much information.

you probably wouldnt believe how many X5 coils I have repaired (assembled by fisher) with horrendous solder joints. Hard to believe professionals could do such an amateurish job.
