Hello guys Will i got my new Minelab Explorer today i see i will be Looking at the Book for a bit LOL any thing i need to know from the start

Congratulations, you definitely have some great hunting fun ahead of you
One thing is that it really does perform excellent as a turn on and go detector right out of the box.
You need to know when the Explorer has detected an item, whether or not it's a diggable ID, and how to pinpoint.
If your have some experience detecting then maybe you just want to use Digital at first so you can easily distinguish the pennies(2:geek:, dimes(2:geek:, quarters(28,30), halves(30), and nickels(6). Also, at first I would stay in Semi-Auto sensitivity set between 18 and 28, for a few days. This will allow for quick coin retrievals without having to dig any trash --except a couple tabs around nickel(6)--, at the seting you will still easily hit the super deep stuff.
The more time you spend in the field the more advanced you need to go with the Explorer's settings. But for just hitting a bunch of coins right off the bat then digging Digital ID's would be the easiest way to start out.
Also, if you use Digital and a target shows the depth at a half meter or deeper, then it's probably an oldie, maybe silver.

BTW, if you don't already have them, think about picking up the Sunray control box cover, and headphone adapter/detector stand.

i hunt coins but i like to go for the Rings will this setting hit them as well

Get used to digging holes way deeper than you would ever think would be nessesary. And spend time pinpointing, make sure you get a good x pattern under that little raised dot on the coil.If on a shallow item you can't narrow the pinpoint down to a small area try lifting the coil off of the ground to pinpoint till you narrow the signal down.

The ID (2:geek: is a good sterling rings range.
The ID (6) for nickels is a great because it gets the nickels and is wide enough to pull in some of those gold rings that surround that area, I've already found two gold rings that were both 6's.
Of course after a short time if not right away you should be moving on to more advanced hunting anyway and begin adding many more Digital ID ranges or Smartfind pixel regions to dig that will include more sterling ring and coin areas, and begin digging more in the the gold ring areas(foil and tabs) when you want to go for the gold. Also changing the different settings; variability, recovery, gain, and others..

Will it was my First Day out with the Explorer
well no big finds not i dont see what the big deal is with pinpointing it is very easy for my but how do i get more depth??? i am runing in Digital what do i need to do??
Thanks
Richard

Just add the additional ranges to your dig list, like 22 thru 27 and maybe 3 thru 5. I guess I made it sound like you could program in more new ranges like 36 thru 39, sorry can't do that

You can pump up the sensitivity and set recovery to Deep mode. Maybe go to Manual sensitivity. Just continue bumping up the appropriate settings as you advance, you'll have to spend time in the field getting used to them.
