Things have changed Darrelld since you used the SE..... we found the following setting to be better than you were using: Ferr, IM 5, digital screen, sensitivity auto 10, Gain 4, variability.... well lets say 2. You will find the SE runs smooth and quiet as a church mouse with these setting. Now go have some fun

Strange how we miss a little instability...a little back talk...a little squawking over iron...etc...BUT if you learn to tolerate it...listen closely...learn it some more...I actually do better in iron with it than any other machine.

Of course threatening to wrap it around the nearest tree helps the bonding process somewhat too.

You are not going to believe this.... I put in the settings you told me, in 45 minutes I had a pile of silver and few hundred wheat's and Indians. Thank you so much for your input The amazing thing all the silver and Indians were already put in coin holders and dated.. Some of us just get lucky!
