Got it handed to me today!!!

Boy, I got it handed to me today. Ol' arjim is consistently kickin my tail with his SE and the new Pro Coil. Almost to the point to where I am thinking about going back to my SE! Anyway we hit a hard hunted Union camp this evening and found a few goodies. Jim found the 3 ringer, teardrop, round ball, cuff and coat general service eagle buttons and what seems to be an Enfield barrel band while the only decent signals that I could get were the pieces of the cast iron pot. I did find a couple of pieces of melted lead by the pot. All in all had a pretty good little hunt!

Ex-Sox , great finds. I have found several bullets with the E-Trac but no CW buttons as of yet, are you hunting in conductivity or Ferrous? Can you help me out where do they come in at? Thanks, Ash..

I have been using ferrous sounds. Buttons seem to hit where shotgun shell brass hits or thereabouts. Unfortunately I have not found any with my Etrac but they hit the same as shotgun brass on the SE so I would assume the same. I have been switching from a relic program that I modified and the Quick Mask screen. I am sure that the Etrac will find the same stuff that the SE will find, just got to put the coil over it! Are you hunting Wilson Creek camps and skirmishes? You have a lot of history to find!

Yea we have few little sites around here, seems there were lots of camps in the area also. We are working an early 1800's tavern VERY close to the trail of tears. We have found several of Reales and one Gold dollar there along with several bullets ( lots of pre-civil war). I have found one particular area where we have found several old buttons with my DFX but now with the E-Trac I cant wait to get back there. One really good button is a US great Coat button 1830"s. I just want to be ready with the Minelab when I get there that's why I was just wondering where they come it at, don't want to miss any. Thanks for the help!

Sounds like a great spot. You shouldn't have any problem picking out those buttons for sure. I like ferrous just because I am used to using my SE and running with no discrimination. Some say use a bit of discrimination(nails) with the Conductive sounds, you might give that a try!
