[attachment 208592 squirrel5.jpg] Tiny little thing with absolutely no fear at all ! She walked right up to me.....and when i bent over and put my hand on the ground, she crawled right in my hand !

[attachment 208593 squirrel1.jpg] Cute little bugger! Now I had a problem, I knew it was too young to just let go........a feral cat or hawk would surely eat him.

[attachment 208594 squirrel2.jpg] When I first picked him up, he laid right down in the palm of my hand, curled up and was trying to go to sleep.

[attachment 208596 squirrel3.jpg] You can tell by my watch that she is a tiny little thing. Maybe she got shook out of her nest by Irene?

[attachment 208597 squirrel4.jpg] When I put her back down for a minute she crawled back up on my shoe and tried to crawl back up my leg. My neighbors daughter is a Vet. tech. so I Went to their house and asked her what I should do. They are very animal friendly and just fell in love with it. Seems that had raised several baby squirrels and had cages and everything for them so it's all gonna work out for this precious little babe. She was saying they have to be at least a year old before they can be released and she thought this one might be less than a month old. Any way, she's in good hands now and at least has a chance.

I was cleanin my tractor shed in early spring and i came upon what i thot were young rats scatterin from thier nest. ( didn't have my glasses on)
I thot somethin was odd about the shape o' thier little heads as i was stompin on 'em with a broom.
The next day i realized that they were infant squirrels.
I was SICK over it !!:sadwalk:

Looks like a grey squirrell, they dont get as big as a fox squirrell. Looks cute and docile however keep in mind that they have teeth that can easily crack a wallnut or bite the end of a finger off if afraid or mad.

Might have been real tired and hungry as well. The Vet. Tech said that she couldn't be released back in to the wild until she COULD crack open a Walnut by herself. She said that was kind of the "test" to see if she was ready or not.

Looks like you've got the situation well in hand. congrats. She sure is cute
