Got first silver with the Ace.

Took the ace out to my favourite spot for a couple of hours today to become better acquainted with it. I'm quite surprised with how much audio information this machine can give you, considering it is only a single pitch machine. Also noticed how you can use the depth indicator to help sort out the good targets from bad. I thought that the bell tone was going to be a bit annoying, but I'm finding that is really a major asset to the machines performance.:garrett:
The coin count wasn't that high. Four $2 coins, one 1 cent, one 2 cent coin and my first silver coin for the Ace, a 1956 Shilling! This is the first silver coin that I have found at this site and only my second ever shilling. Not bad for it's second outing. I think that this machine might make my other machine a bit jealous and less used.
Regards.
Mick Evans.

[quote Uncle Willy]Nice finds. You may find your other machines collecting cobwebs. :)

Truthfully spoken, Bill, at least in my case. Bought another detector recently costing 3 times as much, and you guessed it; the new expensive one is already the backup for my Ace 250.

:garrett: RULES:crylol:

WTG on the first silver, Mick.

Ace 250 is an awesome detector; got my first silver with it a couple weeks ago; 1918 Merc at 6" deep by an old tree. I'm sure that tree has been assaulted many times by detectorists over the years; speaks well for the 250.

Thanks guys.
Yeah. I think the other one is about to collect a lot dust. I've been quite surprised by the amount of audio information it gives. I have found myself no longer in a rush to look at the meter. That belltone is very effective.
Congrats on your first silver Dick.
All the best.
Mick Evans.
